Stitchers are the best....

Marlene C felt sorry for me and sent me a skein of 762! I now can fill in that big "hole" in the middle of Rainbow Row! Actually...Marlene has taken a hiatus from stitching and is now ready to dive back in. Hopefully she will be posting her finishes soon for us all to admire! Her thoughtfulness made me smile today and that was good! Happy stitches...

67th Annual Watermelon Festival.....

...the oldest continuing festival in South Carolina, was held this week in my hometown, Hampton. Though we missed all of the activities during the week, we did make it to the parade today. It was a very "sticky" 100 degrees, but it was nice to spend the day with my entire family. I just had to share some pics of my niece and nephew.

Here is my 6 month old nephew, Connor, with his uncle Gerald. He looks sunburnt, but it was only the reflection from this watermelon colored umbrella.

After a while, the excitement was just too much to handle for little Connor!

The parades are just not like they used to be with the beautiful floats, beauty queens, and politicians, but one of the most interesting entry was this John Deere paying tribute to my favorite team, the Clemson Tigers! Thought that was pretty neat.....

Well...after a shower to wash off all of the sweat, I am ready to settle in for some stitching. Hope all are having a great weekend and happy stitches....

F & S 4th of July Squares received....

April K. was my partner and I just love the design she chose. It is a freebie from SanMan and is so cute.

Better yet....she finished it for me since she had the perfect fabric. You doesn't love that....finishing is not my favorite thing! She said this was her pillow finish and she did a great job. It is ready to be added to my display in my office.

Well....tonight is UFO night and I need to pull out SB Herb Gatherer. I haven't picked it up in a couple of weeks and need to at least make an effort. It's not one of favorite stitches and I don't know why I don't enjoy it since I love the design. Oh well.... time to go "make the doughnuts". Happy stitching ......

Totally Useless SAL...

I forgot to share my progress on the last new moon....but better late than never!

This has actually been great if I find that I only need a small piece to finish up some stitches!
Not as frugal with saving my small bits as I once was so the long pieces have been very useful!

Rainbow Row and more....

Well....I did get a little bit done last week. Michelle said it looked like a bomb exploded where the shrubs were waiting anxiously to be stitched. I am still waiting on the "paint" for the second house.....how can someone not have DMC 762 in their stash???? Oh well...one day I will make it to Hobby Lobby to pick up.

Something new....

We went to Charleston on Saturday and I didn't want to take Rainbow Row to stitch so I decided to start something new to take along. I won BBD "Evergreen" in a giveaway a couple of months ago and just couldn't resist starting it. Now I am finding it hard to put it down and get back to Rainbow Row.

Lastly......

I participated in a spring exchange in May, however, my partner did not reciprocate so I am just chalking it up as a not so random act of kindness. Oh well...when life gives you lemons......

Rainbow Row start....

I finally got started Saturday night and here is my progress after four nights...

This is actually stitching up pretty quickly so I should be done by the end of the month if I stick with it! The thread colors are very different than the larger Rainbow Row. These colors are brighter, and I plan to make a few changes after comparing the two. My first Rainbow Row took me 9 years to finish and I might be able to finish this one in 9 days! Four down....five to go!

P.S......

On a side note.....hubby had to bottle his latest beer tonight and I thought I would share some pics. We love beer and this time he brewed a cherry stout...yum. It still needs to sit in the bottle for 2 more weeks to get that carbonation, but definitely has the strong coffee taste!

After two weeks of fermenting in the carboy.....

it is transferred to the bottle....

where it will sit for two more weeks.....

and we will enjoy July 4th! Yes, it is that dark and taste like cold coffee ...sorta!

BC Summer House finished....

I finished this Thursday night and it was a cute design to stitch. I have a walnut square frame that will be perfect if I can just make myself frame it.

I finally started Barbara & Cheryl's Petite Rainbow Row Saturday night. I think this is going to stitch a lot quicker than a I thought. This is good since I need this finished by August 1st.

We spent the weekend at my Mom's river house and I got a lot of stitching done. I found this design thumbing through some of my old magazines and started it back in March. I got about halfway through before putting it back in my To Do pile. I kinda forgot about it and picked it back up this weekend to finish. I think it's still kinda cute and am not sure how I will finish it. At least that is another one done.

Second some UFO progress......

SB "Herb Gatherer" (1998)

I hadn't stitched on this in awhile but finally picked this back up this weekend too. There are so many color changes and it's not my favorite thing to stich, but I am going to make myself stitch at least weekly until finished. Eventually it will get done!

Third... I finished my Fair & Square 4th of July square but can't share a pic yet. I still have to do the signature square and hope to mail this weekend!

From finish to start....

"You May Delay" by Sunflower Samplings is finished....

This was a really quick stitch and I am glad I decided to pull this from my stash! Since I finished pretty early in the evening, I was able to start something new Friday night...

I decided to start BC "Summer House", another older kit in my stash from 2001. I got to spend most of Saturday stitching with Amy, Nicole, and Teresa. This design too is stitching up quickly and I should be able to finish in a day or two.

Luckily...Amy let us do some shopping at Down Sunshine Lane and I picked up some fabric for my next two projects! I am itching to start DT "Sunflower Bellpull", but must start Barbara & Cheryl's Petite Rainbow Row so that I can have it finished by August for a gift! I really hoping this one will stitch up fast ..it is going to be very hard to resist starting the Sunflower Bellpull.

Just got back from a great dinner with DH at Bonefish Grill and I think I will make this an early evening! Happy stitching.....

I have also been busy stitching "You May Delay" and it is stitching up very quickly! I absolutely love ~ love ~ love it...it looks so much better than the model pic. Not much left to do so I may be able to finish in the next night or two!

Well off to stitch while I watch "So You Think You Can Dance".....I just love this show...not sure why, but I am so excited it is back on Wednesday nights! Happy stitches....
