Autumn box finish....

Autumn freebie---With Thy Needle & Thread
(Thanks....all knew you would know!!!!)
Stitched with DMC on 32 ct. tea/coffee dyed linen
Inside of box....ready for my stitching goodies!
I've wanted to finish a box with stitching but just couldn't find the right design.  I found this freebie on my computer that I had saved last year and, after stitching it, thought it would be a good fit.  I covered the box inside and out with some scrapbook paper I had on hand and that I thought was a perfect match. I just love the way it turned out.   I just love the design of this freebie and know I will stitch this one again.

I decided I wanted to play with some paper yesterday and made these cute pumpkins.  I could have used more strips with the large pumpkin but, overall, I like the way they turned out.  I plan on making a couple more of these since they were so easy!   I also made some notecards to send for some long, overdue thank you gifts but forgot to take pics before packaging.  Hopefully they will reach the recipients in a short time!

Well...I think I may actually stitch tonight.  I have a some finishing I need to do but think that can wait a little longer.  Thanks for visiting and all of your wonderful comments.  I do hope you enjoy visiting my blog as much as I enjoy visiting yours.

Happy stitching....

****Edited to add designer....With Thy Needle & Thread...thanks everyone!

  18. Love the box stitching and finishing. The paper is a great idea. Did you do any staining or treating of the exposed wood?

    Super idea for the pumpkines.

  19. Your stitched box looks wonderful, Karen. How did you attach the paper to it? That is really a great idea instead of painting the box.

Your pumpkins are so creative--and I'll bet they came together quite quickly!
