I often take for granted the sacrifice of our military's time, and sometimes lives, that allows me to enjoy even the simplest freedoms As we remember our veterans today, I thought I would share some pics from Clemson University's Military Appreciation Day held Saturday during the Clemson/NC State game. Clemson was a military school up until the 1950's and is very proud of its students and alumni who have served our country.

More than 70,000 spectators were in silent as a
helmet, boots and wreath were placed on the field.
Following a salute by members of the Pershing Rifles team,
the Tiger Band played taps. A very solemn, humbling moment.

I think many of us take them for granted too often Karen. I The pics are amazing... I'm sure it was very moving to be there in person. Thanks for sharing...

Great pictures Karen! It must have been so amazing to be there. I'm so grateful to the men and women serving - especially since my dh was in the Army for 6 years. Thankfully, he was never deployed. I just can't imagine how hard it is for all the families.

ReplyDeleteThere will be lots of remembrance services here tomorrow in churches and at memorials, i have been wearing my poppy for the past couple of weeks
It is very sad that so many young people have to give their lives. I work with soldiers every day and I always feel for their families.
