I was so close to having another Challenge
finish last weekend.
I was stitching away on BBD's "Its Berry Time" and had sneaky feeling that I was going to run out of thread with just the alphabet left to stitch. I was using Victorian Motto's Plum so I shot off a quick email to Nancy to see if she had some more. Luckily, she was able to identify just the dye lot I needed and I got my package of threads (I couldn't order just one skein now could I?) yesterday.
Just a few hours stitching and I
finally have my finish.....
BBD "It's Berry Time"
Stitched on 35ct WDW Linen w/
Victorian Motto Plum
I really love the color of this one and will add it to the framing pile. I really need to work on a "framing plan" so I can rescue some of these finishes from seclusion. Guess I need to go buy that lottery ticket.......

We spent a few days in Charleston and Pawleys Island the first of the week. The weather was just perfect for walking and touring. I had forgotten how pretty Charleston is and the food is wonderful too. The best thing I had was the
found at the Boone Hall Farms Market.
I can not describe to you how good this was...yummy!
We headed up the road to spend a day at the beach. While at Pawley's Island, I decided to make a quick trip to the Quilter's Cottage located right up the road in Garden City.
I certainly didn't need any more fabric but decided I should come home with some type of "souvenir" and I think this filled the bill. If you are ever in the Myrtle Beach area, it is definitely worth the trip to visit.
We are home for today and will head out Thursday morning to Tennessee for a few days. Sure hope we find cooler weather too! Hopefully I can work in some stitching time during the ride.
Well...I'm off to work on my ornaments since the 25th will be here before I know it.
As always...thanks for visiting and happy stitching!

Pretty Berry Time, love the plum color
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Tennessee, hope it's cooler for ya to enjoy
Karen - Berry Time is so very pretty - it's interesting how sometimes a monochromatic finish is the best way to stitch a pattern. Can't wait to see it done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish, Karen. Love the color.
ReplyDeleteI love your finish! So good that you were able to get more of the same dye lot to finish! Love the fabrics you picked up. Fabrics always make me happy. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow Karen,
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so pretty w/that plum color! I have had this chart in my stash for quite sometime and now you've inspired me once again!
Tanya
Congrats Karen! I agree, the color is just gorgeous :o) Great job!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty stitch Karen! I've always admired this design. I'm stitching BBD Their Song right now and have run out of floss for stitching the lettering. I'm hoping I can find a dye lot close enough.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is breathtaking -I love the design and the colors. Congrats on a wonderful finish!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I had to smile at your excuse that you got the fabric as a "souvenir". Good one - I'll remember that for the future... :-)
Pretty stitch. The colour you used is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love BBD designs and have just pulled out Garland Fair to start stitching on.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish!! I love it, and you chose the perfect fiber color for it. I really do need to get stitching this one. It's the perfect summer stitch.
ReplyDeleteI called my daughter over to the computer to read your blog post because after reading a few Karen White (one of our favorite authors) books, she is obsessed with wanting to have pimiento cheese and live in the south and have southern food. I knew the crab would throw her over the edge. LOL Me, I'm dying to try some fried green tomatoes. My nephew is working in Myrtle Beach this summer and I'm anxious to hear how everything went when he gets back.
Congrats again on the finish!
Great Finish Karen ;)

ReplyDeleteBerry Time beautiful, karen! so glad Nancy had the thread :) You made my mouth water over your meal choice, sounded delicious. I think the fabric was a perfect souvenir and why not? When you finish something with it, you'll remember...isn't that what a souvenir is? a reminder?
