1797 Ship Sampler....

First....I just want to let you know that the
Alison Krauss concert was wonderful.

I am happy to show you another
Crazy Challenge finish...

Barrick Samplers "1797 Ship Sampler"
40ct khaki linen w/ DMC

I have had this sampler in my stash for a
very long time...too long so I am glad it is done!
I searched online to see if I could find some
other finishes but found none.
Just curious if anyone else stitched this one????

I always use DMC when stitching a Kathy Barrick
design and am amazed at the "funky" colors once
they're assembled. I have realized, though, that
they always come together to create
the perfect color palette.

Love the ship and fish

This one definitely looks so much better stitched.
Just need to save my pennies for framing...

This is finish number five in my
Crazy Challenge.
I think that calls for celebration and I will
do so by starting something new.
Linda was sweet to offer me A Colonial Garden
from Plum Street Samplers after her recent
finish.   I fell in love after seeing Linda's
finish so I think this one will be next up
on the q-snaps.

I have been so lazy about leaving comments lately
but please know I have been seeing all of your
wonderful stitching.  I do appreciate you visiting
my little corner of the world.
happy stitching...

  14. Oh Karen, this is just wonderful ... and went straight on my wish list. You are so right with the colours, they look gorgeous on the project. The same always happens to me when I pull out the threads for a Prairie Schooler design. First I wonder if they will really go together and when it's finished I see that it's the perfect colour match.

  19. Karen, Your sampler is lovely. The fact that it is a Barrick piece makes me wonder if you are the generous soul who lent me a Barrick chart with a caged bird ... when I finished the piece and wanted to return the chart, I discovered I had mislaid the information about the sender. I scrolled back through my blog reading list looking for the photos that inspired my admiration in the first place, hoping to find my benefactor but never did find the original photo. If the chart is yours, will you please contact me. Clicking on my name will bring you to my e-mail.

  31. Another beauty, Karen. I am a huge Barrick/Goode Huswif/CHS fan, so it's a lot of fun to see other stitchers' work on the net. This one is a real beauty and you are so right about the DMC colors really coming together. It also always gets me that her designs often look like "nothing special" on the cover and they are absolutley stunning once stitched up.
    Congrats on another WIP down!!!

  44. That is a wonderful finish Karen. I have that one in my stash and for some reason I always over look it. But then when I see it, it reminds me of my father and his love for the sea, so I probably should pull it out one of these days and work on it!
