September's Ornaments ....

"Tiny Stockings"
from Celebrations Christmas 1993 magazine

Here is this month's installment for the Me, Myself & I ornament exchange.  I usually stitch my ornaments within the month, but two of these were actually started in August.  Since I didn't have all of them finished, they became this month's installment.  The stitched designs look a lot better in real life, but my finishing skills are something to be desired.  Guess I need to work on my mastering a stocking shape!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend
....happy stitching!

Exchange from Kim....WOW!

Look at the beautiful box I received from Kim B  for the Stitching Friends Through Seasons

Bent Creek "Autumn Arches"
(Stitched over one...can you believe it?)

Oh my goodness....I could not believe my eyes when I opened this.  I just love Bent Creek, especially their older designs, and this is one of my favorites that I have just never gotten around to stitching.  Kim stitched this over one and I can't believe how much it changed the "look" of the design.  It will fit just perfectly by my stitching chair.

I was giddy when I opened it to reveal these neatly wrapped little treasures!

She included a Gentle Arts Harvest thread pack, pins, buttons, ribbon and a cute pair of tiny scissors!

I also have to share this little detail.....

Kim used scrapbook paper to personalize the inside of the box....how sweet!  Needless to say, this was a great mail day.

Thanks for all of your wonderful comments and I do appreciate you giving me a few minutes of your day!  Well...in a little over a week I will by flying across the ocean and can't believe I haven't even packed...my stitching!  As we all know, it takes time to evaluate and coordinate what stitching goodies I should take...
guess I better get busy!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and have many happy stitches...

Great mail from Jackie and Teresa....

LK "Work Pray Trust"

Jackie recently had a giveaway on her blog and I was the lucky winner.   She stitched this great LK piece and I am so excited to be the recipient.  Her finishing is great and I love the beaded detailat the end.  With the stitched piece she also gave away a copy of Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life and a book light.  I've had this book on my list for a long time and know that now if the time to read it.  If you haven't visited Jackie's blog, please do so...she has some great finishes.  Thanks again Jackie.....

I recently admired Teresa's finish of Jarin Prive's "Christmas" and she was so sweet to send it to me!  How sweet is that!  I love the motifs and can see several Christmas ornaments waiting to be stitched.  I really appreciate her kindness and will definitely pay my good fortune forward once I am finished stitching it.  Thanks again Teresa.....

Lizzie Kate Creative Challenge....

Angela hosted a LK Creative Challenge on the Lizzie Kate Lovers blog last month and I just had to join the fun.  The challenge?  To stitch and finish the LK freebie "Friendship Grows".
Well, here is my entry.....

stitched with coordinating DMC on 18 ct. oatmeal Aida

Thanks to all of the wonderful stitchers on that blog who voted for me, I won!!!!  There were some wonderful entries and some neat ideas so please check them out if you haven't already!

The fob is my next project for sure!

The best part....the prize!  Linda from LK donated these two Limited Edition kits(signed by her very self) as well as a neat calculator (in my favorite lime green color) and some bookmarks.   I love the Halloween fob and think the the "Chicks Rule" is just too cute for words.   As you can imagine....it was a great mail day.

Now...the big question is can you tell it is a flower pot???  In person, there is no question, but I think it is hard to tell in the pic.

The neatest thing about this finish?  It is a "pocket" with a hanger so that I could tuck some neat stuff inside .....

....great place for some stitchy gift stuff, gift cards....oh the possibilities are endless don't you think?  Of course, this one is mine but I can't wait to try this finish again with different shapes.  The wheels are definitely turning....

Well....I think that's enough gushing for one day!  I really do love this one and thank you for looking!  I will shut up now!

Happy stitching....

Autumn box finish....

Autumn freebie---With Thy Needle & Thread
(Thanks....all knew you would know!!!!)
Stitched with DMC on 32 ct. tea/coffee dyed linen
Inside of box....ready for my stitching goodies!
I've wanted to finish a box with stitching but just couldn't find the right design.  I found this freebie on my computer that I had saved last year and, after stitching it, thought it would be a good fit.  I covered the box inside and out with some scrapbook paper I had on hand and that I thought was a perfect match. I just love the way it turned out.   I just love the design of this freebie and know I will stitch this one again.

I decided I wanted to play with some paper yesterday and made these cute pumpkins.  I could have used more strips with the large pumpkin but, overall, I like the way they turned out.  I plan on making a couple more of these since they were so easy!   I also made some notecards to send for some long, overdue thank you gifts but forgot to take pics before packaging.  Hopefully they will reach the recipients in a short time!

Well...I think I may actually stitch tonight.  I have a some finishing I need to do but think that can wait a little longer.  Thanks for visiting and all of your wonderful comments.  I do hope you enjoy visiting my blog as much as I enjoy visiting yours.

Happy stitching....

****Edited to add designer....With Thy Needle & Thread...thanks everyone!

Halloween stitching....

"Boo" freebie from Homespun Elegance
"Wicked" freebie from primitivebettys

I am so ready for fall and stitched up a couple of halloween freebies to add to my collection.  Not sure what is going on with me and water but I had another "accident" and my thread bleed on the Wicked finish.  Oh well....guess it just adds to its "primitiveness".

I am definitely in a "fall" mood and can't wait to dig through my stash to stitch some more.  I will, however, vow to find another "finishing" technique....I think I have made more than my share of mini pillows!  There are so many talented stitchers so I am off to get some ideas I can "borrow" from all of you!

Thanks for visiting....happy stitching.
