From finish to start....

"You May Delay" by Sunflower Samplings is finished....

This was a really quick stitch and I am glad I decided to pull this from my stash! Since I finished pretty early in the evening, I was able to start something new Friday night...

I decided to start BC "Summer House", another older kit in my stash from 2001. I got to spend most of Saturday stitching with Amy, Nicole, and Teresa. This design too is stitching up quickly and I should be able to finish in a day or two.

Luckily...Amy let us do some shopping at
Down Sunshine Lane and I picked up some fabric for my next two projects! I am itching to start DT "Sunflower Bellpull", but must start Barbara & Cheryl's Petite Rainbow Row so that I can have it finished by August for a gift! I really hoping this one will stitch up fast ..it is going to be very hard to resist starting the Sunflower Bellpull.

Just got back from a great dinner with DH at Bonefish Grill and I think I will make this an early evening! Happy stitching.....

TUSAL and some stitching....

Forgot to post my progress on the Totally Useless SAL, but here it is .... this has to be my favorite monthly SAL....

I have also been busy stitching "You May Delay" and it is stitching up very quickly! I absolutely love ~ love ~ love it...it looks so much better than the model pic. Not much left to do so I may be able to finish in the next night or two!

Well off to stitch while I watch "So You Think You Can Dance".....I just love this show...not sure why, but I am so excited it is back on Wednesday nights! Happy stitches....

New Start "You May Delay"....

There are so many great designs that I would love to have, but have been pretty good on my "stash diet" so far. I resisted the urge to go to the LNS yesterday and buy something new ...trust me it was very difficult to do!!! So I decided late Saturday night to start something new and pulled this oldie from my stash that has been anxiously waiting its turn since 2000.

Sunflower Samplings "You May Delay"

I started last night about 10:30 and actually got quite a bit of the house done. I just love this design and will have to post my progress later.

If you live near an AC Moore's, they have their DMC 6/$1.00 Sunday and Monday for Memorial Day. I decided to be there when the doors opened to avoid the crowd, but so did 5 other women so there was just a little pushing and shoving to stock up on some thread. They also have a 50% off coupon for a regular priced item good through Monday in case there is something you can't live without!

We don't have Monday off but I hope everyone can enjoy a long stitching weekend! Please say a prayer for all our service men as we remember the fallen ones. Makes me greatful I have a job to go to!!! Happy stitching....

Use It Challenge #11....

Yeah....I finally did the Use It challenge early and it is a good one. Ingrid's challenge...
1. Size: square card
2. Theme: Summer
3. Embellishments: use a flower(s), ribbon, pin(s) and twine
4. Tools: Punches

Well...to me summer means bees and I have been itching to do something with yellow & black. I had pulled out my yellow & black paper a few weeks ago but just couldn't decide on anything until today! I love this card! I didn't have any twine at hand so had to leave it out, but think I got everything else! If you like cardmaking, head on over and check it out. The challenge runs through next Thursday night so it's not too late to join the fun. There are some amazing card makers and their creations are always beautiful!
Since I had my stuff out, I kept going and made two more cards. My bird stamp is new and just had to use. I found the set on sale at AC Moore and just couldn't resist. The cards are a little plain, but I like 'em.

Thanks for looking! Happy crafting.....

Some stitching and some cardmaking....

I finally jumped on the bandwagon and stitched the Blackbird Designs freebie and honored my mom. I plan to frame and hang in my craft room since I spend 90% of my free time in there. Even made a little card to send to my Mom to let her know I am thinking about her.

2 Sketches 4 You.....
Finally got a chance to participate in the challenge over at 2S4U. A pretty simple card, but it was nice to do some papercrafting for a change.

Use It challenge....
Also decided to participate in the Use It challenge. I only got 2 of the 3 items....forgot the chipboard...oops!

Oh well...simple but it was fun to play with paper again! Thanks for looking and happy crafting....

Ornament finishes and UFO update...

Here are some ornaments I worked on last week. I tried finishing two circular designs for the first time and they are so-so....will need to use more batting next time.

Threads Through Time "Reindeer Garden"
2000 JCS

I omitted the reindeer from this design and added the initials for myself and hubby...so I guess "Reindeer Garden" isn't really an appropriate name!

Threads Through Time "Poinsettias and Pines"
1998 JCS

I omitted the pines and gold urns in this ornament just using the green/red combo. DMC 3363 and 3771 are my two new favorite colors for Christmas ornaments.

With My Needle "Needleworkers Pocket"
2003 JCS

Obviously, I didn't finish this as a needlepocket, but loved the design. The pic looks "pink", but the design is actually stitched on coffee-dyed 18 ct w/ 3771 DMC.

Progress on SB "Herb Gatherer"......

I missed stitching last week on my UFO, but got in about 6 hours this past Friday night. I have finished the lady with the exception of beading and will start the border and herbs next week.

Lastly.....

LK May Flip-It Stamp

I finished my May SAL with Needlework Haven forum....at least I will get to enjoy it for a couple of weeks!

Thanks for all of your nice comments and happy stitches.....

F & S Spring Squares received....

I received my squares today from Danica and love them.

I couldn't get a good pic due to the overcast weather, but they are so dainty and I love the colors. Now...I have to decide how to finish them.

Thanks for all of you for the comments on "No Honey". It was a nice stitch to do.

P.S......

Hubby and I went to see Star Trek last night and loved it. He is a true fan and I am not, but we both really enjoyed it . If you are a Trekkie, you definitely have to go see it! Live long and prosper...and stitch!

Thanks for looking and happy stitches....

Stitching progress....

UFO progress.....
Friday nights are my UFO stitching night and I was able to get in a few hours on Herb Gatherer. I love the design but just can't seem to get into stitching it, however, I will trudge forward next Friday.

I just have a little left to finish the skirt and can move on to the border. Thanks to the new UFO blog, I hope to finish it this year!

More stitching progress.......

I also wanted to share my progress on BOAF "No Honey". I really love stitching this and hope to finish this week. I don't care to stitch on linen too much, but love this Belfast. The actual fiber colors are also more pastel in real life than in the model, which appear much darker, but I like it.

Thanks for looking and thanks for all your comments...they are the perfect link to your blog and I love visiting other blogs! It's amazing how many ideas and new designs you find! Thanks for all your inspirations! Happy stitches....
