Me, Myself & I ornaments....

JBW Designs "Christmas Keepsakes II"
Homespun Elegance motif from "Merry Winter Bellpull"

I decided to take a break from the JCS Ornament issues and stitch some stuff from my stash.  I love the JBW ornaments and stitched two using DMC 115 and 94.  I loved the green and think I will be stitching these again.  I had an unfortunate accident with a water bottle and my Homespun Elegance ornament suffered the consequences ... oh well I still like the way it turned out.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments on the Sparrow's Song.  It's amazing how much I have thought of my grandmama over the last few days.  I can vividly remember the smell of her house, the pictures on the wall, and the homemade straw broom that was always in the corner.  Oh how I wish I could spend another afternoon with her.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you are having a wonderful week and wish you many happy stitches!

I am a fan of Judy's too! Merry Winter looks great despite the run in with the H2O (*HUGS*)

  3. Sorry about the whole water bottle incident - at least it wasn't grape koolaid (we won't go there)

Your ornaments are fabulous - thanks for sharing ;)

  16. Very pretty ornaments Karen!!

I had an "accident" with water once with overdyed threads. Except mine wasn't from a spilled water bottle....It was from me *forgetting* I used overdyed floss and I wanted to wet the fabric a little before I ironed it! It was a gift for my son's teacher. Luckily it was a LK design and I was able to re stitch it quickly.
Actually I think the color bleed gives it a nice look. I may try that on purpose sometime lol

Very touching to hear some of the things you remember about your grandmothers home. If I could pick anyone to spend the day with it would be my grandmother too!

  22. Love this month's offerings; I just couldn't pick a favorite! :D Homespun Elegance's things just lend themselves to a bit of "oops", I think. I just finished one where I cut the edging in the wrong place for the blanket stitching--I just grabbed another length of thread and 'visibly mended" it. :D

I enjoyed reading about your recollections of your grandmother's house--isn't it amazing how a single thing like your Sparrow's Song piece can stir up so many memories. She sounds like a wonderful woman...
