Goode Huswife "Tree of Life"....

With the luck of the Irish I have another
Crazy Challenge finish.....

Goode Huswife "Tree of Life"
28ct mystery linen
w/recommended DMC

Love the border on this design....stitching it????
Not so much!

This was my Jan. 1st start so I decided I would pick it up next.  It was a pretty quick finish and is in the same color family as The Bird Tree.
I thought I would get bored stitching with the same colors over and over but I find that I want to stitch more!  I do have a couple of exchanges to stitch so my next Goode Huswife finish
will just have to wait!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Did you know that Dublin has 750 pubs ?
We didn't make it to all of them....but gave a valiant effort!!!!

Hubby and I just love this "holiday" and have celebrated all of our years together.  Here we enjoy a pint at the Guinness Storehouse on our trip to Ireland last fall.  I certainly couldn't let the day pass without enjoying a pint of the velvety goodness so we did venture out to one of our local pubs tonight to enjoy a pint or two!

It seems South Carolinians have been enjoying a good pint for quite awhile!

As always....thanks for visiting my blog.  I do love reading all of your comments and am thankful you take the time to visit my piece of the cyber world!  I am off to New Orleans for business a few days but hope to find plenty of time to stitch!!!

Hope you have a great weekend...happy stitching!

  3. Wonderful finish! I agree that the border is beautiful (as is the rest of it) and can see how it might not be the most fun to stitch. A lot of the Goode Huswife projects appeal to me.

  5. I think your piece is great and I really love that border, although I bet it was a little bit of a pain to do, but so well worth it.

Hope you enjoyed your pints today!

  7. You are turning the finishes out right and left! lol! This is just lovely! I can see why you love the border -- but might not enjoy stitching it! :D You and your DH are so cute together, celebrating St. Patrick's Day! Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!

  10. I love your Tree of Life finish and I've just looked through my stash and have this pattern. I see you stitched yours over two on 28 count but am wondering if I dare try over one, it would turn out really small.

  14. The Tree of Life is gorgeous. I tend to stay away from stitching that kind of border, but I do love the appearance.

Hope you had fun celebrating yesterday!

  20. What a happy couple! and what a beautiful piece is your Tree of Life. For some reason you inspire some of us to stash instead of stitch and you certainly inspired me to get out Moon Garden last time. have a happy safe trip!

  24. Great finish Karen! The boarder is really nice, but I can see why it might be a pain to stitch! lol Hope you enjoyed a Guinness yesterday, I know I did! I had no idea it had been around in the US that long either.

  25. Love your new work--the border IS gorgeous, however. I keep remembering what you said about the palette of GH and CHS. :)

You and DH look great! I was hanging with a friend and totally missed the chance to have one myself! I am not much of a drinker particularly beer (not a fan of the carbonation, and they pretty much all taste like olives to me...) but I love Guinness! Smooth and rich yet refreshing! We have a set of friends who loves to drink car bombs, so that's always a good time, too! :D

  32. Gorgeous finish Karen! You're making great progress on your challenge pieces.
I hope you enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day. Those pints are making me thirsty and it's far too early in the day for that!

  34. I like the cross stitch design that you did. It would make a nice design translated to fabric for an applique project also.
