Since hubby & I are going to Ireland this fall and not taking vacation this summer, I decided I still needed a couple of "mental health" days. I have used my time wisely to do some reorganizing, stitching and finishing!
HIH "Hearts & Flowers" fob
Cross Stitch & Needlework Feb. 1999
I've been reorganizing my craft room and found myself going through my magazines where I came across this little design. It was so cute and just had to be stitched. How had I missed this in 1999? It is supposed to be a scissor fob but I am going to display it as a small. Just too darn cute if I say so myself.
4th of July Quaker freebieWhile shopping at Joann's, I found some round wooden boxes on clearance for 97 cents. How could I pass those up! While going through some finishes, I found this 4th of July design from Aury I stitched last month and thought it would fit perfectly on one of them. This is my first round box finish and a lot easier than I thought it might be. Will be perfect next year holding my treasures.
Notice the little birdie? I saw one of these on another blog a couple of months ago and just had to make one. I am not a big bird fan, but he is just too cute! You can find the pattern at Spool Sewing. My sewing skills are limited so I learned a lot on my first and hope to practice on a few more in different color combinations.
Well...that's it for now. I have finally wrapped up all of my exchange stitching and I am itching to start something new! Thanks for visiting and happy stitching.....

ReplyDeleteKaren, your finishes look great !!! One of the fun parts of organizing is that you find all these little treasures that you had forgotten about. :-)

ReplyDeleteGreat finishes Karen. Aury's design looks fabulous on that box. I have made a few of those birds - a little fiddly but I love the way they look.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching and finishes are great Karen...love the little birdie! I just recently reorganized, found "new" treasures that had been consumed by my growing stash AND started a blog! Hope to hear from you soon!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you finished your heart on the box top, Karen. I really have to stitch that one myself--it is one of my favorites. And what a sweet bird :)
