Look what I got.....

I was lucky enough to win Angela's blog
giveaway and the mailman was nice
enough to deliver it today!

Having exchanged a few times with Angela,
I knew this box would be finished to perfection.
And it is.
This one is an extra special treat since
Angela's mom stitched the design and
Angela did the finishing.

I have two stitching spots and I always have to
haul my scissors, readers, needles, etc. from
one spot to another.   This perfect for all of my
accessories in my downstairs spot so that I
just have to pick up my stitching and go.

Thanks again Angela....this will be a treasure.

If the road to you know where is paved
with good intentions, I am driving the bus.

I had good intentions in starting Colonial Garden
but found myself in a quandry.   Although I
love it on the dark linen, I was leaning
toward stitching the lighter version.

Since I can't make up my mind, I decided to
pull out another Crazy Challenge piece.

Elizabeth's Garden "Nantucket Sampler"

I was still in the seafaring mood so I decided to
stitch on this until I figure out my linen dilemma.
I love the design but am iffy on the border.   The
white is just too "white" so I think I will give
it a tea bath once done to tone it down a bit.

Well I'm off to stitch....thanks again for visiting.
Hope you are having a stitchy week.

  2. Congratulations on winning such a lovely prize. It obviously will be perfect for you! I like your Seafaring project, but the white is very white - sometimes I really like my whites to show bright, sometimes not.

  22. Congrats on the win! Fantastic box finish! I really like that pattern, too! Nantucket looks good so far. IF you don't want to dye it, you could just NOT fill in the border... Just a thought! Though by now, you may have finished it! Hugs!

  23. Congrats you lucky girl! It's just lovely. I like your Nantucket too. I think the tea dye would look good. You could always just dye the white parts with a cotton swab. Love it!

  24. What a beautiful give away prize! I agree, the white in the border is a bit bright. A tea dye would be just the ticket to tone it down.

  25. I like the shape of the border especially on this one. The ship is neat too, though. Hope you are able to make your decision. Maybe show pics on your blog, and then a poll? I'm sure once people have seen the floss toss, they'll have opinions for you!

  26. Congrats on the win - that's a nice place to keep your necessities! Isn't tea/coffee the most wonderful thing? Not only does it taste good, but tones down your stitching if applied. LoL You have good stitching fun, too.

  27. Love the box your received from Angela! You are so right when you say her finishing is perfect! Enjoy it!
I also don't think the white looks too white on your border. But it may be different in person than on a monitor.
