A Bee's Gathering....

Once I saw Nan's newest design I
just knew I had to stitch it.
I already had the perfect spot for it...
Here is my current Bee's Gathering and this
will make the perfect addition.
Threadwork Primitives "A Bee's Gathering"
Stitched on 36ct. PTP Earthen
w/Victorian Motto threads
I love the look of the browns and golds
in this design.  Since I  knew I was going
to frame this, Nan was fine with me
rotating the beehive.   I decided to fill it in
so that it would be similar to the other beehives.
My favorite bee....
I just love this little bee and think he would
make a perfect little pin cushion.

My SIL Pam surprised me with
these scarfs last weekend that she made.
I have wanted one like the brown one since
last winter so I can't wait for it to get
cold so I can enjoy them.
With temps in the upper 90's, I
think it may be long wait!

Things are really rolling at work as
we prepare to meet our new crop of
freshmen as well as their parents in
the next two weeks.  Although
I have been doing this 22 years,
it is sweet to see how excited and
scared these students and parents
are when starting college.
If you are preparing to send yours off
to school soon, I do hope all have
a great start to the new year!
Hope you have a great week!

  1. I remember helping my daughter enroll in college. Those were the days! That first meeting there were a lot of shocked parents that were a little freaked at not being in charge of their child's bursar account. They did not like being told they would have to ask their child for access! Welcome to adulthood, mom & dad! I was fortunate to have had an easy child AND one going to school in the same city we live in.

  2. Oh yeah, and I LOVE the bees! So precious...

  3. Love the bees, hoping to finish my set soon.

  4. Love how the bees came out! So pretty! My son doesn't start his sophomore year at college till the week after Labor Day week. A while to go yet!

  5. Love your bee wall and your newest finish!!

  12. You are so right, these new bees will be a wonderful addition to your other bees. And bees like having company, don't they? Lol.

  13. Love your bees! The new finish is wonderful.

  14. Perfection in beekeeping!
    Peaceful stitching...

  15. What a beautiful display. Oh Karen! That is us totally. Our oldest is to begin college this month. He is still living with us, but it is freaking me out, his putting things off til the last moment!

  16. What a great group of bee stitching!

  17. Hello

    Just found your lovely blog.
Your stitching is beautiful, that wall with the samplers is awesome!

  18. Cute little project, they look so wonderful grouped together.

  19. I just love your latest Bee finish! It will look so great on that wall with the others :)

Love the scarves, could do with one of those tonight with how low our temps have dipped! It's a welcome relief though :)

  20. How great is your bee wall? Great job! Have you seen KBarrick's Bee Study? Did you get to wear your scarf since it was only in the 60sLoL. Have a great year/semester start. Our classes begin Wednesday. Be well!

  21. Well, you have been busy as a bee working on your Bee pieces! Just lovely!

  22. I love your bee-theme collection Karen. I have "No Bees No Honey" hanging in my sampler collection and have always liked it. Also have enjoyed seeing all of your pear collection - they make a great grouping!

  23. I've been looking at this design trying to control myself and not add any more to my stash but I think I just may give in to this one!

    Love the scarves.

  24. Your collection is looking lovely, and what a fab new addition. Heading off to Uni was very exciting, I can't believe I'm going into my final year already! Best wishes and happy stitching to you.

  25. Look at all your bees, the Just Nan will be a perfect addition.
I found out from Faye we will be meeting you in Myrtle Beach. Can't wait to meet fellow blogger.
