28ct linen w/GA Raspberry Parfait, Victorian Pink, WDW Moss
I really liked this design on the recommended fabric, but decided to reverse it since I didn't have a good second choice. As you see from the original, I made some major changes. I love pinks, reds and greens together so I changed the colors to suit my taste. My hubby gave me an odd look (because it really is that bright) but I like it and that is all that matters! I tried it with a rosy red mat I made from cardstock and loved the way it looked so I will be off tomorrow to find the perfect frame! I think it will make the perfect Valentine design.
I loved the phrase "Truly Thine" so I decided to whip up this pin cushion....
Now I am at a lost of what to stitch.....Paradise Lost in fact. I have all these wonderful designs and I can't make up my mind what to stitch next. What to do ...what to do!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you ... for all your recent comments. I love reading them and appreciate everyone who takes the time to leave one. My friend at work loved the pillow and was very excited so my heart was smiling that she appreciated it. I am off to figure out what to stitch next so I'm wishing you happy stitches ....
Karen, your sampler looks great and I LOVE the pincushion :) Great work :)
ReplyDeleteI love your version of Truely Thine~ And the pin cusion is so cute~~ Great idea!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Karen! And that pincushion is absolute perfection! That really is the perfect fabric. I can't wait to see what you pick to work on next.
ReplyDeleteI really like your choice on "Truly Thine" better than the original. It looks so clean and crisp - refreshing!! Your pincushion is great too. Good job in using a motif in a different place!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I like the changes too. And the pin cushion is sweet. Good stitching!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you have chosen, congrats on the finish! The pin cushion is really cute too :) I can't tell you how many times I have picked floss before fabric and not have anything to match, LOL! Not anymore though, I like to think through the finish first and work backwards.
ReplyDeletelove your color choice and the finish is stunning! and the pillow is really cute too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sampler and the colours are beautiful. What a neat little cushion too. Just close your eyes and pick one out of the pile.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness!!!! I LOVE your version.....so much prettier!!! Of course, I told you that I love pinks & greens together! Too pretty! I ALWAYS have the fabric problem you mention!! In fact, it happened yesterday!! I wanted to make a pillow with my reindeer & didn't have a good fabric!
ReplyDeleteThese are very beautiful. I think primitive betty's has some valentines freebies that might be right up your alley.

ReplyDeleteWow! That is a BEAUTIFUL rendition of that sampler! I absolutely love your choices, and if I can locate the chart, I may stitch it just like that! Thank you very much for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Both pieces are adorable! Love the idea about picking backing fabric first. Many a time I stitch what I like without giving any forethought to how I will finish it and run into problems.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on two lovely finishes. I like your lighter/brighter color choices for Truly Thine. The Sampler Girl has a "Be Mine" freebie.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I like your reversal- I don't know what it is but I just don't like stitchery on dark pink or red fabric. The Sampler Girl has a nice Valentine freebie on her blog I believe! If you don't know the link I believe it's in my blog list on my blog. I can't remember it off the top of my head. :)
ReplyDeleteThey're both fantastic! I vote for Paradise Lost - I love this one!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the sampler. Lovely colors. and I like your changes also.
ReplyDeleteI love your changes. Isn't this a neat design? I'm stitching it too but I haven't been as creative and are just using the called for fabric and threads.
ReplyDeleteAre you doing the heart pincushion too?
I'm another one who likes your version better than the original. I can really see the design and your wonderful stitching on the lighter linen.
ReplyDeleteoh my....I just discovered your blog thru ???(can't remember where now, just blog surfing) WOW!!!!!!!! I love all of your stitching. You ornament exchange with me and myself is HILARIOUS! I need to adopt that exchange too because I never sign up for most of the ones I see online. I love your BBD Truly Thine. The colors are BEAUTIFUL!
