BC "Cottage in the Sticks"
32 ct. black w/ DMC
Another 2010 UFO bites the dust! I fell in love with this 1996 design as soon as a I saw it but lost interest after starting...that darn black fabric, house and border were driving me crazy! It sat unattended all summer and I decided I shouldn't go into 2011 with it still hanging. Out it came last weekend and I spent the entire day Sunday stitching it....and actually enjoyed it.
(It was like starting a book I just couldn't get into and then later can't put it down. Ever happen to you????)
Not quite sure what I am going to do with it....hubby doesn't care for the black fabric so not sure whether it will get framed eventually or not. The important thing is its finished !

Well...I only have "Live Laugh Love" (from this year) sitting in my stitching basket and I would love to finish it before the new year too. Since Tuesday is my SAL day for this one, I should be able to finish today. Before I will allow myself to stitch, I must organize my little space, which is strewn with paper, ribbon, fabric, thread....you know what I am talking about! The quicker I get to it the quicker I can stitch so I guess I better get busy!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and had some stitching time!
Very nice! And how great that your stitching basket has just one thing left in it for the New Year! Impressive!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet, congrats on the finish :-).
ReplyDeleteCongratulatons on your finish. You deserve a gold star for going back and finishing an UFO. Glad to hear you ended up enjoying the stitching.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the finish, I love the design! I would like to ask if it was from a magazine or is it "just" a pattern? I definitely have to go on the hunt for it!
ReplyDeleteI love to see the colours shining on the black fabric. It's different but really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice finish. I can't bear stitching on dark colors, but I do appreciate the look.
ReplyDeleteAnd how nice to have only one more unfinished piece. You can now start ramping up for 2011.
Very cute finish! It looks great on the black.
ReplyDeleteI think anything on black make the colors just 'pop'! Looks great on black and you can send it over to my house if you can't figure out what to do w/it! LOL

It looks great Karen! I can't stand to stitch on black and have not done so in I don't know when! I loose track of where I am at too much. I need to take your lead and get those pesky UFO's done! Been in a quilting mood though, so I don't know when that will be! LOL. Happy New Year!
