February frolics....

Hello stitchers....

This past month has been a good stitchy
one.  January's installment of the
PS Alphabet
has been completed and I can
honestly say this was not a favorite.

I dreaded stitching it before
I even started but decided to
go ahead and get it over with....

Prairie Schooler "D is for Drum"
stitched with DMC on 40ct linen

I wasn't thrilled with the design and think that
attributed to my lack of desire to stitch.
I really didn't like that the letter was
at the top, which is the only one like
this.  I decided to switch it which meant
a little bit of a redesign but I am happy
with how it turned out in the end.

I decided to carry on with the next installment
for February and have to say this is one of
my favorites.  I love the tapestry even
though I did a little unintentional redesign.
Counting is hard.

PS "E is for Embroidery"
stitched with recommended DMC

I was able to get together with some stitching
friends the end of January and decided
this little design would be good for
stitching and talking simultaneously.
Someday this hopes to be a pinkeep.

I also had the opportunity to have a few pieces
framed and glad I veered away from the
brown frames to choose reds.

Carriage House Samplings
"Matter's Choice"

This is still one of my favorite finishes from last summer.

Heartstring Samplery "Three Little Proverbs"

This will be on display as a daily
reminder of the poignant messages.

Thanks for visiting and I am off to stitch!

  1. Wow on the framed pieces, Karen! They look stunning. Good for you on getting D is for Drum finished along with the All in Bloom piece! You have made super progress on the E block. Thanks for sharing!

  2. The red frames are very effective - great choice!
*counting is hard* this made me giggle! It is indeed.

  3. The red frames are awesome. Lots of nice pieces you shared. I am smitten with the Prairie Schiller alphabet but don't dare start another BAP! Happy stitching.

  4. Matter's Choice is fabulous! E is for embroidery is a really neat pattern.

  5. Lots of beautiful stitching. love the framed pieces

  6. The 'E' is a beautiful finish.
    Lovely framing.

  7. Your D looks great. When I get started I won't like stitching that one either!

  8. The PS is awesome. I thought about doing the same thing on 40ct too. I think I have now talked myself out of it (too big). I will do the E is for embroidery though.

  9. Gorgeous stitching Karen! You did a fabulous job on all of them. Great choice with the red frames...they are the perfect compliment to the stitches. Enjoyed seeing your pretty work. RJ

  10. Lovely! Your blog is one beautiful piece after another - thanks for sharing!

  11. Your framed pieces are beautiful/.

  12. How nice to get all of those pieces framed and on display. That block of the PS alphabet does look like a lot of dark stitching.

Who doesn't love a good comment....or a bad one for that matter! Thanks a bunch for visiting my little piece of the stitching universe! If you're new, I will be sure to visit you too.
