CHS Frederika....

CHS "Frederika" stitched on 40ct Pearled Barley w/ recommended DMC

I (mostly) finished "Frederika" last night and I love it! I can't decide whether to fill in the border since "Frederick" isn't filled and I plan to stitch it too. Once I have them both done, I will make a decision whether to stitch it or not.

Now....I am off to start BBD "A Stitcher's Companion". I picked up some Weeks 30 ct. linen in Straw at
DSL a couple of weeks ago and I have been itching to stitch on it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with many happy stitches.....

  1. Oh my!! It's lovely!! It makes me want to start mine. It is kitted and ready to go-but I haven't made a start yet. I never thought about the borders being different...I may have to follow your lead and stitch them the same as I plan to stitch both Fredrick and Fredricka :):)
    Great job, Karen!

  2. Oh my gosh, she's just GORGEOUS!!! I love it, with or without the border filled in, it's perfect just like it is!! My plan is to stitch both as well, and you know, I never even noticed that one border is filled in and the other one isn't! Thanks for mentioning that!
    What a wonderful finish!

  4. Oh, how lovely she is!! The Freds are my most-wanted CHS before they are OOP charts! I think I might like the DMC even better than the NPI!

  10. This is beautiful Karen!! I never paid that much attention that the borders were different. Then again I have not seen these up close, only on blogs and online stitching stores. I'm like the others, I think the border looks great like it is! :)

  11. Hi Karen
I keep seeing your name on other blogs so popped over to take a look!
Frederika is lovely, the colours are beautiful and I think the design is so striking that the border looks lovely as it is shown here. I'm pretty new to BBD so will take a look at A Stitcher's Companion as soon as you have progress.
Lovely blog, I'll be back xx

  12. Karen, Fred is SO beautiful~~ The colors really came together....I know we had talked about the color of the body of the bird, but it I think that great border ends up pulling all the colors together...Just stunning~~

Now,do I start Fredrick or Fredricka first???Hmmmmm...I am not sure, but this had really got me to thinking~~~

    Nice work my friend, Faye

  26. Karen, it's amazing. I don't think I'd change a thing. It looks perfect without it filled in. I have both patterns but who knows when I will have the time to stitch them up.

  29. Frederika is gorgeous, so much better that what you see on the internet shop sites. Think I may have to order the two " Freds " while they are still available.
