A few finishes.....

Since hubby & I are going to Ireland this fall and not taking vacation this summer, I decided I still needed a couple of "mental health" days. I have used my time wisely to do some reorganizing, stitching and finishing!

HIH "Hearts & Flowers" fob
Cross Stitch & Needlework Feb. 1999

I've been reorganizing my craft room and found myself going through my magazines where I came across this little design. It was so cute and just had to be stitched. How had I missed this in 1999? It is supposed to be a scissor fob but I am going to display it as a small. Just too darn cute if I say so myself.

4th of July Quaker freebie
While shopping at Joann's, I found some round wooden boxes on clearance for 97 cents. How could I pass those up! While going through some finishes, I found this 4th of July design from Aury I stitched last month and thought it would fit perfectly on one of them. This is my first round box finish and a lot easier than I thought it might be. Will be perfect next year holding my treasures.

Notice the little birdie? I saw one of these on another blog a couple of months ago and just had to make one. I am not a big bird fan, but he is just too cute! You can find the pattern at Spool Sewing. My sewing skills are limited so I learned a lot on my first and hope to practice on a few more in different color combinations.

Well...that's it for now. I have finally wrapped up all of my exchange stitching and I am itching to start something new! Thanks for visiting and happy stitching.....
